This year, the Latin Builders Association invited Miami-Dade Aviation Director, Emilio T. Gonzalez and Director of the Miami-Dade Water and PortMiami Director, Juan Kuryla.
In 2014, the value of international freight moving through Miami International Airport was more than $61.5 Billion, topping all other airports in the nation.
MIA was also in second place for having the most international passengers in the country and is the busiest airport in Florida. MIA’s future only keeps expanding. This year, MIA unveiled a massive energy program by Florida Power and Light Company. The program will lower the airport’s energy expenses and is considered to be one of the largest energy-saving programs in Florida.
This year, PortMiami neared a record by unloading 740,000 containers from ships just this year. Kuryla said PortMiami is “succeeding in keeping business and attracting new services.” He also mentioned how PortMiami will have the capacity to double its cargo within the next seven to eight years.
