This year, the LBA held its Annual Awards Luncheon at the Hilton Downtown Miami on September 25, 2015. Hosted by local journalist, Ellie Rodriguez, the big event brought State Officials to town, such as Governor Rick Scott and Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
With over 500 guests attending, the Governor took the stage saying he’s been supporting the LBA since 2010 before no one knew who he was. Scott also thanked our organization for everything we have done in the recent years and for changing the economy.
Among those guests, was South Florida Billionaire, Jorge M. Perez.
LBA President Guillermo Fernandez and Governor Scott presented Perez with the LBA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Perez thank the LBA for the honor and mentioned how important the organization is for Hispanics in the South Florida construction community.
LBA Elected official of the Year was awarded to Lt. Governor Carlos-Lopez Cantera.
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent, Alberto Carvalho was awarded LBA Public Administrator of the Year.
The City Of Doral was also awarded LBA Governmental Agency of the Year.
