Yamileth “Yami” Pereyra is Director of Operations for the Latin Builders Association. Following her start in municipal government as Executive Assistant for the City Manager to Assistant City Clerk, Yami decided to explore her talents with the LBA and joined the organization in May 2014. She is responsible for operations management, budget development, conference and special event planning, membership solicitation and retention and marketing. With her knowledge and her current appointment to the Small Business Development Advisory within Miami Dade County, she serves the LBA Members with information to excel their business. She values the mission of the LBA and is responsible to make sure that members are informed of any new sources of networking. Lastly, she has completed programs such as Leadership Miami, Class of 2013, that instills value and passion for Miami Dade County.
Yami comes from a business-oriented family who migrated to the states more than 20 years ago. Starting from scratch, the Pereyra’s were able to establish several printing businesses in South Florida. As a family, they have also created their own non-profit organization that has helped the community by volunteering and providing toys and school supplies for children in need.
Yami graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Liberal Studies from Saint Thomas University with a minor in Philosophy in 2010. She then pursued her Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University graduating in 2012. She is now currently working on a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration at Florida National University. Yami is the oldest of three and when not in the LBA Office, is with her significant other, John and her two dogs; Zero and Zeus.
