He graduated summa cum laude from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, graduating cum laude from the University of Miami. Thereafter, Mr. Gonzalez attended and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law.

While attending the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Gonzalez achieved distinction as a member of both the Moot Court Board and the University of Miami Law Review.  In 1999, he was admitted to practice law in Florida. Mr. Gonzalez is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle District of Florida.

 

Mr. Gonzalez began his legal career as a Labor and Employment litigator for the management defense firm of Muller, Mintz, et al. (that later merged with Akerman), and Allen Norton & Blue, P.A. In this capacity, he represented employers in race, sex, disability, pregnancy and religion employment discrimination proceedings at the federal, state and local levels; defended claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act; represented employers in contract disputes with current and former employees, including disputes arising out of covenants not to compete and trade secrets; and handling claims for benefits by current or former employees under statutory schemes.

Seeking to diversify his expertise into the areas of Commercial Law and Real Estate.  Mr. Gonzalez moved to Ferrell Schultz, et al.,. Due to his prior experience as a litigator, the transition to Commercial Law was seamless.  Mr. Gonzalez worked on numerous complex and high profile litigation matters whereby he helped obtain multi-million dollar awards and settlements for the firm’s clients. In this role, a major focus of his responsibilities involved analyzing business agreements, which later proved pivotal in Mr. Gonzalez’s independent practice in the areas of real estate and construction law, both at the transactional and litigation level.

Over the years, Mr. Gonzalez has further honed his skills and expertise in the Firm’s practice areas, representing automobile dealerships, banking institutions, caterers, condominium/homeowner associations, contractors/subcontractors, developers, educational institutions (including schools and academies), insurance companies, property management companies, private investors and individuals, real estate and mortgage brokers as well as residential and commercial real estate owners. He prides himself in developing a strong relationship with his clients that is based on trust, sincerity and reliability.

Mr. Gonzalez’s commitment to legal, community, business and civic organizations include a longstanding association with the Latin builders Association (LBA), where he serves as the LBA’s General Counsel and a Director on the Executive Board. He is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, whose mission is to serve the children of the Miami area. Mr. Gonzalez was also selected to serve as a member of the Small Business Enterprise (SBE-C) Advisory Board and the Dade County Bar Association’s Board of Directors.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
